Voice channels are always open, so there's no calling and no waiting. Turn on your camera or go live with your screen, or with a single app window, whenever you want.

  • Clean audioNoise suppression, echo cancellation and auto gain, plus a mic test that plays your voice back to you.
  • 0–200%Volume for every person, separately. Mute anyone just for yourself.
  • Go liveShare a whole screen or one app window, with system audio. Pop any video out into picture-in-picture.
  • Ping, liveHover any tile to see round-trip time and packet loss for that person.

Security

Locked down by default.

Here's exactly how GIZZ protects your account and conversations.

  1. Voice and video go peer-to-peer, encrypted with DTLS-SRTP between you and the people you're talking to.
  2. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Your sign-in on this PC is encrypted by Windows, and you can sign out other devices from Settings.
  3. Sessions expire. Changing your password logs out every other device.
  4. Links open in your browser, never inside the app.
  5. Uploads are checked. Only images, video and audio display in chat; everything else is download-only.

Questions

Good to know.

Is GIZZ free?

Yes. There are no paid tiers and no ads.

Does it work on Mac, Linux or phones?

Not yet. GIZZ is a Windows 10 and 11 app for now.

How many people fit in a voice channel?

Voice works best with up to about 8 people talking in one channel at a time. Text channels and servers can hold far more.

Why does Windows warn me when I install it?

Windows shows "Windows protected your PC" for new apps that aren't signed with a paid publisher certificate. Click More info, then Run anyway.

I can hear people, but they can't hear me.

Open Settings → Voice & Video, pick the right input device and run the mic test. If you use push to talk, check the shortcut key, which works while the GIZZ window is focused.

Where do my messages live?

Messages, files and your profile are stored on the GIZZ server so they're there on any PC you sign in from. Voice and video don't get stored: they go straight between the people in the call, or through an encrypted relay when a direct connection isn't possible.
